• I'm finally back! After a long hiatus to focus on my PhD, I'm ready to get this site back up and running. We had our 20th Reunion last weekend and I think everyone had a blast! Attendees included Joe Bassil, Phil Beaver, Bill Bland, Al Chlapowski, Mike Dodson, Mike Dolan, Kally Eastman, Bob Finkenaur, Dave Hernon, Bill Macon, Wayne Smith, and Darryl Williams. A number of others wanted to make it but couldn't due to schedule conflicts (and the mess in Iraq/Afghanistan too!). Over the next few weeks, I plan to update the Frog Contact List and Personal Pages. If you have anything you'd like to share (a note, photos, or whatever), send it to me and I'll get it posted for all to enjoy.

• All Frogs appear to be OK after this tragedy! I have been in contact with Phil Beaver (Pentagon), Mark Troutman (ex-Pentagon), and Joe Bassil (NYC) and all are OK. If you have any information on other Frogs who may have been involved, please forward me a status on them.

• The Class of 1983 USMA Crest I use on this home page came from Angie Magruder. She provided me this image free of charge for use on this site. She does fantastic work and offers these crests, along with many other products, at her site, www.angieink.com. I have a link to her site in the Site Directory under Angie Ink (USMA Crests).

• Dave just sent me a few photos of his family vacation to Alaska last year and a fishing trip he went on with Brice...check out their personal pages. I noted the lack of large waistlines...great job at keeping in shape!

• Welcome to the new and improved F4 Frogs Home Page. I just moved the web site over to the WP-ORG servers to ensure uninterrupted support in the future and found that I was able to include a few new features as well...the BULLETIN BOARD section where you can post your own messages, the LISTSERVER section (still under construction) where you can sign up for an automatic email list, and the EMAIL sections which you can use to send off quick emails. I will continue to refine the site offerings and look forward to your suggestions about other features, links, etc. I hope you like the new look!

• I just got hold of Jerry and Wayne so you should see some updates for them soon. Jerry made a great offer for a pre-20 year reunion next summer...read on. "I am serious about all of us getting together the first week in August of 2002. I think it would be just a hoot and a riot. The house is located about 2 hours from Chicago O'Hare in a little town called Apple River, IL. There is also easy access to Dubuque, IA, the QUAD Cities, and Madison, WI. The yard is big enough to plant tents for the little kids (we have 2 tents that sleep at least 5 each), and the house will accommodate up to 12 people before cots, sleeping bags, etc., are added. If some can bring their own stuff, we can fit a lot of folks comfortably. I also know some people in the area that have several properties that we might be able to use. Add to that a large grill or two (we can buy beef, pork and chicken locally) and a fridge full of beer, wine, and cokes and instant frog reunion!" From our conversation, Jerry said there is also a lake with the possibility of water activities nearby. If you are interested, please respond to Jerry or me or so we can see if there is any interest in trying to make this happen.

• Just got hold of Kally and updated her personal page -- go check it out. She's with the NY District of the Corps of Engineers, stationed at USMA and will be there until she retires o/a 30 Jun 2002.

• We hit the trifecta this week. I received notes from three classmates in less than three days! Here's the lowdown if you missed any of the individual email traffic. Phil Beaver is preparing to PCS to the Pentagon to begin working in the DCSPER Analysis Branch this June. He will live in McLean, VA. Bill Macon is also preparing to move this June, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and a job as a project manager in the office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. He will live in the Rockville, MD area. Finally, Mark Troutman is in the midst of a move to Korea this summer. I expect it will be to take battalion command and hence should be an accompanied tour. As soon as he lets me know more info I will pass it on.
• Other moves I know of this summer: Rand Rodriguez is moving to Ft. Sill to take command of an FA Battalion and Glenn Guyant is moving to Germany to take command of an ADA Battalion. Good luck to all of you, and anyone else making a move this summer. Once everyone gets settled in I expect to get some updates!

• Well, I just finished my last final for this semester and have a few weeks off before starting up the Summer Session. The Army is footing the bill and makes sure we stay busy full time to earn our pay. My courseload will decrease significantly these next semesters and I'll finally be able to get down to some serious research. I am trying to come up with a topic in the area of sensor networks. It's interesting and I think I'll be able to continue research in this area once I get to USMA.
• I'm still waiting for more updates...please send me more personal histories and photos so I can keep the site interesting and folks don't get bored and quit coming back to visit. I am going to take some time over the break to try and reel in some of our classmates who haven't come on line yet. If you are in contact with anyone who isn't listed above, please contact them and pass on the site location.

• I just got an email from Glenn who says he is on a trip around the country prior to heading to Germany to take command of 6-52 ADA Battalion. The change of command is at 1000 hrs on 18 May in Ansbach, Germany if anyone is in the vicinity. Glenn was currently visiting the Hernon family in Richardson, TX and says Dave and family are doing fine. Good luck with the new command, Glenn!
• Glenn and Dave offered a suggestion to add email address links on the personal pages of the web site. In response you will find an envelope icon below the personal information on each of the personal pages. Simply click on the icon and your email program should launch, with the correct address automatically filled in (that is, if I had the email address to begin with). Let me know if you encounter any problems with this feature.
• I'm also still working to allow each of you to enter your own messages in this Message Board...stay tuned to see if I am successful.

• Well, so far not many of you have visited our home page (or you've visited but not sent me any feedback). Most who have visited have provided updates or photos. If you haven't done so yet, please update your contact information, send me a short bio (see my page for an example), and send me a picture or two of the family. Most have commented that they will enjoy catching up on your exploits and seeing how time has changed you! And besides, if you don't provide some good info, I may start adding some of my own (I have a good imagination!)

• (Pulled up from a recent email from Bill Macon) So where was everyone for the Army-Navy tailgate this year? Jim Davis and I occupied the Wharf Rat Pub during the game and sustained a small cheering section, accompanied by a platoon of half-drunken Santas and other riff-raff, while we waited for the chilled game-goers to straggle back. I had fun.

• Well, I finally put the Frog Home Page together! After you look it over, please provide some feedback so I can improve it.
• I intend to fill in a lot of the empty spaces shortly, but I need your help. Please review the Personal History section on my page and see if you can take a few minutes to put something similar together for your page.
• I also intend to add photos (see Rand's and Chuck's pages), but again, I need your help!
• If you want a message posted here, please email it to me and I'll get it posted. I'm still not sure how to make the site available for you to post your own messages, but I am looking into it.
